Description
The KAUST Supercomputing Laboratory is co-organizing with NVIDIA, a leader in accelerated computing and artificial intelligence, a full-day workshop on accelerating scientific applications using GPUs on Tuesday, February 20th, 2018 in the auditorium between buildings 4 and 5. The workshop will be followed by a 2-day GPU Hackathon in which selected teams of developers will be guided by OpenACC and CUDA mentors from NVIDIA and KAUST to port and accelerate their domain science application to GPU accelerators on the IBEX Cluster.

Keynotes speakers:

Timothy Lanfear manages the European solution architecture and engineering team in NVIDIA’s Professional Solutions Group. He has twenty years’ experience in HPC, starting as a computational scientist in British Aerospace’s corporate research centre, and then moving to technical pre-‐sales roles with Hitachi, ClearSpeed, and most recently NVIDIA. He has a degree in Electrical Engineering and a PhD for research in the field of graph theory, both from Imperial College London. He is a Chartered Engineer and Member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology. |

Brent Leback is the Service and Support Manager for PGI. He has worked in various positions over the last 31 years in HPC customer support, math library development, applications engineering and consulting at QTC, Axian, PGI, STMicroelectronics, and NVIDIA. |

Venue
All lectures will take place in the auditorium between buildings 4 and 5 (workshop square).
The workshop location is a 5 min walk from the KAUST Inn (red square) and the campus diner (orange square) for the regular lunch is 5 min away from the workshop location.

Hack-a-Thon
