Client address authorisation

Your IP address must be explicitly added to your account before it can be used to connect to Shaheen. Normally, users from KAUST will be able to access from the KAUST campus immediately after you receive confirmation that your account has been created. Any requirements to add additional IP address ranges outside of KAUST should be included in your Individual Account Application (IAA). However, they can also be added at a later date. In order to add an address to your account, please contact help@hpc.kaust.edu.sa.

When possible we will add an IP address range to your account rather than a specific address. For example, it is not necessary to add individual addresses within the KAUST campus to an account: the entire campus network will be authorised.

When the same client address fails to authenticate multiple times, further attempts to log in from that address are blocked for ten minutes.
